Snowfest 2018 - Ironic record snow for opening weekend - featuring Groove Foundry at Garwoods

Snowfest 2018 will open on Thursday night with Groove Foundry performing at Garwoods at 5pm. This was the party of the season last year!

Groove Foundry never disappoints, and had the crowd dancing all night. This year will certainly be no exception. The $35 entry fee includes a huge appetizer assortment, and a variety of complementary libations including Wet Woodys, wine and beer, as well as the great sounds of this fabulous local band. https://www.reverbnation.com/groovefoundry

The event will also include the Queen Coronation, with the  mardi gras-themed parade featuring the chosen Queen and her court happening in downtown Tahoe City on Saturday March 3 at 11:30. The parade will have floats, bands, and beads and is family friendly.

Ironically, the huge snowfall predicted could prevent some party-goers from making it to this awesome event. The forecast calls for 3-5 feet of snow in the high sierra and 1-3 feet at lake level between Thursday and Saturday. Check road conditions before venturing out, and be safe. However, if you do make it to the opening, or any of the other events, you will be thrilled you did. The festival is one of the highlights of the winter.

Opening weekend of this 12 day fun-fest continues Friday, March 2 from 6:30-9:30 at Blue Agave with music by Blake Apalooza and a Fireworks show at Commons Beach. This should be beautiful in the snow if the weather permits!
