The luxury market report for real estate activity in Lake Tahoe continues to break records. In March, we had a West Shore lakefront sell for $31,000,000, bringing the monthly sales volume to $258,000,000. March is normally a slower month, but sales activity continues to outpace new inventory.

More than 40% of March sales were on properties listed over $1,000,000 and while lakefront homes were slow to rally, this part of the market has quickly caught up. Four homes sold at prices above $10,000,000.

When comparing the first quarter 2020 sales to the first quarter of 2021, we saw a 230% increase. Home values continue to rise as demand for quality of life has brought many Bay Area buyers to Lake Tahoe.  

As we move into the second quarter of 2021, buyers are often making offers above asking price. I ensure that my buyers are prepared to move quickly, and often know of inventory before it comes onto the market.
