Bacchi's has been a Tahoe City institution since 1932, when Josephine was known for serving up her Chicken Ravioli for $1. The restaurant is now run by the fourth generation, and still combines local history with old school family-style Italian dining. Red checkered tablecloths and candlelight in a cozy setting enhance the culinary delights that range from classics like Chicken Caccitore, Scampi and Veal Piccata, to a perfectly charbroiled Filet Mignon. Your delicious meal includes minestrone soup and salad with a fabulous house made dressing that is popular among diners. The house made Ravioli is a favorite, along with the garlic bread.
The bar was remodeled in 1960 by Stone Masons from Europe. It features a wood burning stove as well as Satellite TV, a good blend of the old and the new.
The staff is friendly and attentive. Bacchi's is perfect for a romantic dinner or night out with friends. It is also family friendly, so feel free to bring the kids, or plan a group outing in the spacious dining room that can accommodate a group with advance notice. Whatever the occasion, you will leave full and satisfied, and sure to spread the word about this local establishment that is rich in history. You will enjoy perusing the old photographs featuring celebrities and locals from decades past.
Off the beaten path but just minutes from downtown Tahoe City, this is a gem not to be missed!
